Along with genetic testing and ultrasound scans, you will find several less conventional techniques for predicting baby gender:

• Needle or Wedding Ring Test

• Drano Test

• The Intelligender Gender Test

• Chinese Gender Calendar

• Woman’s Intuition

Forecasting Newborn Gender - Needle or Wedding Ring Test

Attach a strand of hair or a piece of thread to a needle or wedding ring for estimating newborn gender. Hold the needle or ring over the expecting woman’s tummy whilst she is lying down. Should the needle or ring swings in a strong circle, it is a girl. If it swings back and forth similar to a pendulum, it is a boy. As an option, you are able to dangle the needle or ring over the pregnant mom’s wrist.

Please note: while this is an interesting test, it isn't 100% accurate due to human error from subliminal hand movements.

Forecasting Baby Gender - Drano Test

How to conduct the Drano Test for estimating newborn sex:

You will want two tablespoons of Crystal Drano (not the liquid), rubber gloves, a disposable glass jar, safety glasses and an outside work space. First, obtain a fresh urine sample (2 to 3 oz) when you awaken in the morning. Second, pour the Drano into the disposable glass jar. Add an equal amount of urine. Wait about 10 seconds. Predicting infant sex results: if the mix changes a dark brownish color within 10 seconds, it is a boy. If it does nothing for more than 10-15 seconds, it is a girl.

Alert: This test is dangerous for a expecting female to conduct for guessing infant gender as a result of the dangerous fumes. It operates best after four months expecting. Even so, this is not the time to be exposing yourself to potentially harmful gases. In place of putting yourself at risk, consider using a commercial product that works in the same way with out becoming hazardous. The Intelligender Gender Test is an example of a commercial item obtainable.

Please note: although the Drano Test is yet another enjoyable test to do, the results are open to interpretation and the test could be hazardous.

Forecasting Newborn Sex - The Intelligender Gender Test

The Intelligender Gender Test also uses your morning urine for estimating newborn sex, which is contained in a re-sealing container. Once the urine meets the crystals, a chemical reaction will happen. Swirl the concoction around for a couple of seconds then place on a level surface for about 10 seconds. An orange colour equals a girl. A murky greenish colour means a boy. The test claims to be 90% accurate and you can use it as early as 10 weeks. Not only is the test secure, you don’t come into contact with a smelly, potentially toxic substance.

Predicting Baby Gender - Chinese Gender Calendar for Chinese Gender Prediction

The Chinese gender calendar, rumored to have been found 700 years ago in an ancient royal tomb near Beijing, China, is employed for Chinese gender prediction. Several say the Chinese gender calendar is over 90% accurate. At the same time, you'll find so many distinct charts offered on-line; therefore, it's easy to obtain an inaccurate result. One Chinese gender calendar can say that you’re having a boy and the other can say the alternative.

Take note: the Chinese gender calendar is not depending on science. Unusually, the Chinese gender prediction is based on the mother’s age along with the month of conception. How a woman’s age has anything to do with ovulation and forecasting baby sex appears unusual.

Guessing Newborn Gender - Woman’s Intuition for Estimating Baby Sex

Some ladies claim they have a gut feeling about their baby’s gender when they first learn they are expecting a baby. Can a woman’s intuition be a reliable form for estimating newborn gender? According to a questionnaire performed by the University of Arizona, “Women who claimed to have an intuition about the gender of their child made the right choice 70% of the time" (http://web.arizona.edu/~vas/intuit.htm).
